It was another exciting year for Miami’s Club Hockey Team. The Redhawks went into nationals as the 16th seed and left ranked 8th overall. Miami played a tough game against the eventual National Champs, Davenport Panters, but couldn’t weather the storm as they lost 6-1. However, the Redhawks were able to rebound quite nicely against William Patterson. William Patterson jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Miami’s offense exploded for 13 goals in a 13-2 victory. Finally, even though there was no chance for the Redhawks to move on into the Semi-finals, they played hard and held on to beat Colorado 2-1. Overall the Redhawks finished 2-1 in the National Tournament and were eventually ranked 8th in the Nation.

Hopefully everyone has a fun and safe summer. Best wishes to all of our graduating seniors.

Next seasons player’s informational meeting will be at the Goggin Ice Center on Sept. 1, 2009. At this meeting we will discuss: drop in sessions, tryouts, player’s dues, schedule, etc.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this years Alumni Golf Weekend. We hope to do it again at the beginning of next season, around the end of September. Thanks for your continued support of the Redhawks.
