About the Experience

Synchronized skaters of all levels are welcome to this camp! The one week program focuses on individual skating skills, synchronized team skills and off-ice training drawing skaters from across the US and internationally as well. All skaters are placed on a team of approximately 20 skaters that train their individual skills together and learn a “short” program to perform during an exhibition at the camps conclusion. Skaters are coached by the Miami University Synchronized Skating staff and eligible athletes or alumni from the Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating Teams. Coaches are encouraged to attend in an observational role.

Our Facility

The New Goggin Ice Center is truly a state of the art building with two full size ice surfaces, one with arena seating, multiple locker rooms, and a spacious lobby. The ice center, residence hall and dining facilities are all within a short walking distance of each other.

Students will skate in the *NEW* Goggin Ice Center.

Camp students will stay at a Miami Residence Hall, conveniently located within a 3 minute walk from the New Goggin Ice Center.

Students will enjoy the freshly prepared meals offered every day at Scott Dining Hall. Students also have the opportunity to purchase goodies at the snack bar.

Oxford, Ohio

Oxford, Ohio with a population of 8500, is the home of Miami University. Founded in 1809, Miami is a state institution that highly resembles an Ivy League school in academic quality and overall atmosphere. Oxford and Miami provide the very best environment to attract skaters. Once you visit Oxford, you will never want to leave!

Skater Requirements

This camp is suggested for those skaters who have synchronized skating experience or are interested in trying synchronized skating and are ISI Freestyle 1 level or higher. Individual applicants will be placed on a team according to age and USFS individual skill level. Team entries are accepted and encouraged. Every effort will be made to group together those who register from the same team, provided they are at the same skill level. Skaters of high school age and advanced test level that are interested in gaining a collegiate synchronized skating experience are encouraged to apply to our Elite Synchronized Skating Camp. Coaches wishing to observe during the synchronized skating camp are asked to contact the director, Carla DeGirolamo, at 513-529-9800 for more information.
